Over the past decade, technology has changed at a rapid pace, and it will continue to do so in the years to come. Society has become accustom to access to information and thus have grown the expectation that this said information will be ever-present. As an industry, we need to build and maintain a constant connection with the ever-changing world and harness current and new technologies to ensure appropriately-paced advancements. The Smart City Sandbox will facilitate incubation of ideas to provide measurable economic and society benefits for our society.
As the CEO of IBI Group and member of the Board of Directors, Scott Stewart is responsible for providing executive leadership to the company with a particular focus on the operational management and execution. Scott has been with the firm since the early 1980s, initially as a transportation engineer and planner, and grew to lead the development of the solutions sector. As CEO, he continues to be a proponent of technology-driven design — the ethos which underlies IBI Group’s project and product offerings. Scott is active in the community and sits on the Board for the Transportation Association of Canada as well as ITS Canada, where he has fulfilled various roles including chair. Scott has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
