Biographie

(DBEI) organizing committee whilst in Asia and is now part of the DBEI North America Committee since her relocation back to San Francisco. After realizing the slow pace of digitization in the construction industry, Alice joined the Brick & Mortar Ventures team to work with startups that want to disrupt the way we design, construct and maintain the built world.

Alice holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Brown University where she was on the Formula SAE racecar team and worked in a materials science lab researching lead-free piezoelectrics.

Scott Kaplanis is the Managing Partner at GroundBreak Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Toronto committed to finding and funding early stage property and home innovation technology companies. GroundBreak has invested in more than 30 companies in the space and is a recognized thought-leader and ecosystem builder. The firm also works to build partnerships with leading corporate, academic and government organizations to improve our built environment through technology. Scott is an active venture investor and capital markets professional having spent 20 years evaluating and supporting emerging businesses. He has worked in both origination (Scotiabank, Macquarie Capital Markets) and asset management (Epic Capital Management) and has experience across industries and throughout the business lifecycle. Scott has worked alongside dozens of entrepreneurs and has provided guidance on areas including company and capital formation, C-suite recruitment, resource planning, corporate governance, M&A assessment and exit evaluation. 

Adam Wisniewski

Cofounder & CTO - Ai Clearing

Adam Wisniewski is the co-founder and CTO of AI Clearing, an Austin-based leader in automating the supervision of large construction projects through AI-powered computer vision. With over a decade of industry expertise, Adam has spearheaded the implementation of advanced technologies on numerous large-scale infrastructure projects, driving significant efficiencies in asset management.

As a co-founder and former CEO of Europe's first digital construction supervision platform, Adam possesses a deep understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities. His experience also includes several years at PwC, where he delivered AI and reality capture solutions for heavy asset owners worldwide. This unique blend of technical knowledge and practical experience positions Adam as a leading voice in the intersection of AI and construction.

Adolfo Gutierrez

Digital Delivery Manager - Ontario Transit Group

Currently working as Digital Delivery Manager in one of the most challenging projects in Canada, Ontario South Line Civil. Working for Ferrovial in Ontario Transit Group, Ferrovial Construction and Vinci Construction JV. 6B$, +7 years long. +12 kms of tunnel, 7 stations. Leading Information Management, GIS, Data and Technology application on all project stages. 

Construction Processes, Information Management and Construction Data Models expert, following continuous improvement methodologies (agile/SCRUM) in big construction projects, developing all type of projects (highways, rail, civil, buildings…). GIS and geolocated data expert: indoor and outdoor mapping. Technology and software passionate, I know how to adapt them to companies processes and procedures, specially for design, construction and maintenance of construction projects. Office 365 expert and great believer in the possibilities of integration in construction and first line workers processes.
