Geneviève Walker is the Visionary and Event Chair for this Building Transformations event. She has 20 years of experience in construction, real estate development and sustainability overseeing Development/Construction for over $2.5 billion in commercial office, industrial real estate, and EV charging/transportation decarbonization projects. She currently is a Net Zero Infrastructure Dev’t Expert at Hatch. Formerly, she acted as a North America Construction Manager on Amazon Last Mile Delivery Center then later became the North America Lead for Sustainable Transportation at Amazon, where she oversaw decarbonization strategy and helped supported over ten teams across Amazon.com and AWS on their path to Net Zero decarbonization. She acts as an industry ESG/Net Zero Subject Matter expert frequently posting on LinkedIn and speaking in undergraduate and graduate courses about the topics covered in this conference. Since 2010, she has worked on both sides of the border between Canada and the U.S and is a dual-national.

Zahra is aSenior Green Building Planner at the City of Vancouver, where she spearheadsthe development and execution of the City's embodied carbon policies,regulations, and initiatives. With more than a decade background in sustainableand zero-carbon development, she is an expert in embodied carbon design, policyformulation, and life cycle assessment (LCA).
Before herreturn to the City in 2023, Zahra was a Senior Advisor at Mantle Developmentsand a Research Manager at both the University of British Columbia (UBC) and theZero Emissions Building Exchange (ZEBx).
Zahraholds a master's degree in Advanced Studies in Architecture from UBC. She hasled and contributed to numerous industry and peer-reviewed publications,spanning diverse topics like zero and low-carbon buildings, policy strategiesfor low embodied carbon development, advances in mass-timber construction, andthe application of circular economy principles.
Beyond heracademic endeavors, Zahra remains an active participant in professionalcircles. She regularly presents at events and conferences and volunteers forindustry advocacy groups, including Carbon Leadership Forum of British Columbia(CLF BC
Justin Phill, P.Eng, BEMP, LEED® AP BD+C is the Senior Engineer, Green Building and Energy Code in the City of Edmonton's Safety Codes Permits & Inspections group. His passion is helping teams design high performance, low emissions buildings by sharing his expertise in building design, energy modelling, capacity building, and policy development.
In his current role, Justin provides assistance to internal and external stakeholders on the energy codes, and also provides his expertise in green building initiatives throughout various departments within the City of Edmonton. He is committed to helping the City of Edmonton achieve its goal of becoming an emissions neutral city.
Outside of the office, Justin volunteers his time with the ASHRAE Northern Alberta chapter where is he a Past President, and is also the current Chair of IBPSA-Alberta.
