The building industry continues to change rapidly with advances in technology driven by AI. Building Transformations is dedicated to supporting professionals in the industry as they navigate these changes, and acting as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration across North America. The insights shared by thought leaders in our industry about how AI is being adopted and implemented gives us a vision of how this transformative technology will affect every aspect of the building process, from design, engineering, to prefabrication, to the job site, to lifecycle management.
In this year’s publication, a diverse group of members with unique perspectives discuss the applications of AI, from data management and standardization, to industrialized construction, to robotics, to the human side of technology, and more. Their commentary explores how AI can address key challenges including labor shortages, data complexity, environmental challenges, and financial risks.
The digital tools highlighted in this publication create opportunities for better collaboration and coordination between systems, teams and data sets. As data becomes increasingly complex and relevant, digital project delivery demands high quality data and data management systems to make decisions quickly and efficiently. The possibilities for effective communication between people, systems and the supply chain are endless.
AI is also influencing how we work as professionals. To remain competitive, companies are challenged with understanding how AI can solve issues related to recruiting and retaining talent, managing safety on the job site, and optimizing the design process. This publication highlights some of the most innovative startups that are providing practical solutions to meet the evolving needs of the construction industry.
Not only do we witness the transformation of our digital processes, but also the transformation of the job site, thanks to AI. With the increased use of robotics, advancements in reality capture, digital site management, and offsite construction and modularization, the way we build is rapidly changing.
Moving forward, we will see increased adoption of digital tools driven by AI, integration of AI into both digital and business processes, investments into new technologies, and more importantly, collaboration between skilled professionals and trades to make building projects more efficient, sustainable, cost effective and data-driven.
We look forward to seeing our community take on a leadership role in driving the innovations that will transform the built environment.
Thank you for continuing to support our volunteer-led, mission-driven organization. The coming year promises to be one filled with growth, engagement and collective success.
