Our fast-paced and motivated team is currently recruiting a BIM Manager who will play a key role within Nomodic’s research and development team.

The BIM manager will be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of a robust and efficient Building Information Modeling system to keep Nomodic at the leading edge of technology for modular building design.

The volume of work is considered to be moderate to high with the potential for extensive learning. This position is based out of Calgary with the flexibility of remote work.

Duties and Responsibilities

The BIM Manager performs some or all of the following duties:

  • Develop, refine, and implement BIM tools & standards to optimize the design and production of client proposals, production drawing sets, & shared BIM models
  • Integrate AI and generative design processes to assist in rapidly producing multiple design options for the client during the conceptual phase of project development
  • Company-wide content development including Revit templates, schedules, and families
  • Supervise internal and contracted BIM specialists and support staff, delegating BIM related tasks as needed to maintain development schedule
  • Collaborate with R&D and design teams to determine BIM development needs and priorities
  • Develop efficiency improvements for repetitive processes or tasks using Dynamo, Python, etc.
  • Remain current on new releases of design software utilized by the Nomodic team, examples include Revit, AutoCAD, and various plug-ins. Evaluate new BIM related software as applicable
  • Development of a BIM Implementation Plan for use by Nomodic team members and subcontracted design professionals
  • Development of a BIM library structure and content
  • Provide a training manual and other resources as required to ensure efficient on-boarding and training of users new to Nomodic’s BIM system, and to update existing users when releasing new features or upgrades
  • Assist team members when required in setting up BIM processes for complex or special projects
  • Provide quality control checks, feedback and lessons learned from the BIM perspective during a projects design lifecycle when required
  • Provide a commitment to develop and improve internal and external processes for better coordination and interaction with clients, design professionals, and manufacturing partners

Qualifications

Education

  • College degree in Design & Drafting Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or construction disciplines is preferred but not required
  • Autodesk Certified Revit Expert, BIM Certification and other industry related certificates are preferred, but may be offset by verifiable job experience
  • Must be fluent in English (both oral and written)
  • Must have minimum of valid class 5 driver’s license

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum five to eight years of experience with Revit in the AEC field, with a minimum 3 years in BIM manager role is required
  • Demonstrate excellence in various modeling processes and methods within Revit/BIM
  • A high level of collaboration skills when working with other team members to achieve goals
  • Experience with Dynamo scripting
  • Forward looking and interested in learning and experimenting with new technology, ideas, and workflows
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM360 is required, in addition experience with Navisworks, Kreo, ProEst, Bluebeam is preferred
  • Experience with multi-family, hospitality and/or modular projects is considered preferable
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and work with deadlines on short notice
  • Ability to promote and exemplify Nomodic’s core values
  • Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project
  • Excellent planning, organizational and focus skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with a propensity for multi-tasking
  • Professional, trustworthy and respectful approach to all business-related activities
  • High standards of ethical conduct; ensuring the preservation of confidential and/or sensitive information
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Modular experience preferred but not required

Working Conditions

  • Corporate office hours are Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm with variable times due to workload
  • One-hour unpaid lunch break
  • For remote workers, hours and schedule are flexible with approval of Director of R&D.
  • Open concept work environment with regular flow of people and in the office
  • Some travel maybe required
  • Frequently assigned changing priorities
