Reporting to the Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Manager the VDC Coordinator is a Technical Coordinator responsible for modeling, coordinating, and supporting all BIM/VDC processes throughout Clark Builders. This includes but is not limited to execution planning, construction modeling, 3D coordination, drawing generation, trade coordination, reality capture & Processing, Survey / layout, site logistics, and business development content.

Our working environment will be a mix of onsite and in office work and some travel will be required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
BIM / VDC
- Basic understanding of the process of BIM
- Basic understanding of general construction
- Support & Assist the local VDC Lead in Project modeling, coordination,
- Support onsite staff to flush out construction issues utilizing BIM / VDC
- Work with contractors to receive, coordinate and update all models
- Stay informed on BIM use best practices
- Understanding of building science (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural)
Modeling
- Proficient with Revit (Focus on MEP would be an asset)
- Other capabilities with Sketchup, Archicad, Tekla, BIM360
- Programming & Visual programing would be an asset
- Learn new modeling software as required
Coordination
- BIM Project Coordination
- 3D Coordination / Clash detection (Navisworks)
- Create drawings from models for site direction
- Content generation for Survey
Reality Capture
- Onsite digital capture using photogrammetry and LIDAR
- Post processing and registration
- Scan to modeling and model extraction
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Technical mindset and the ability to learn new things is paramount
- Ability to take the initiative
- Understanding of lean would be an asset
- Ability collaborate with others and work in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize work
- Attention to details
- Ability to work independently
- Valid Driver license
- Ability to travel in/out of town and/or country
Qualification and Experience:
- A diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent with 2+ year’s production experience in design, drafting or engineering.
- Exposure or understanding of principles of lean thinking
- CanBIM Certification would be an asset
