Joe Porostosky serves as the Director of Facilities Information and Technology Services (FITS) at The Ohio State University (OSU). His team is responsible for maintaining 44 million square feet of space drawings and data, and he provides leadership for spatially-related data and document systems, including OSU’s Enterprise GIS. With a strong background in technology management, Joe plays a strategic and active leadership role at the university, continually redefining his team’s operations through innovative use of data and technology. As the leader of the BuckeyeBIM (Building Information Modeling) Initiative, Joe has spearheaded OSU’s adoption of BIM for existing buildings, as well as for design and construction, enhancing the university’s decision-making processes and building management. Joe holds a BS in Computer Science and an MA in Public Policy and Management, both from OSU.
